How To Get A Rust Stain Out Of Concrete?

This is definitely one of the harder substances to remove from concrete. MAKE SURE WHEN TRYING THIS AT HOME—THAT ALL EXPOSED SKIN AND EYES ARE COVERED. To fix this common garage problem, our Contractor recommends using a solution of muriatic acid and water.  Muriatic acid is often used in pools in small amounts to adjust the ph balance. It is however, VERY CAUSTIC. Mix it with a little bit of water and pour onto the affected area. Always add the acid to the bucket of water not the other way around.  Dumping water into straight acid can cause the solution to overflow like a shaken up soda can. You’ll want to use a hard core scrub brush that can work away at the stain. It bears repeating though, ARM YOURSELF WITH RUBBER GLOVES AND SAFETY GOGGLES. Muriatic acid can severely burn your skin and your eyes. If this doesn’t work for you, another option would be to rent a concrete grinding wheel to take off the top layer of the concrete. Keep in mind, though, that this will change the texture of the concrete. So, the best idea is to try the acidic solution first!
