Modern Tub Trends

If you’re tired of the same old shower/tub combination, look no further.  This article is all about unique tubs, and you might be surprised to learn what’s out there, and just how different tubs can be.  Sometimes we all need to have that one splurge item for ourselves, and a little bit of tub R&R couldn’t hurt!  Take a soak in one of these really trendy setups.

The new Image-In collection from Wetstyle comprises tone on tone motifs to add a surprise design to the outside of your tub.  These tubs are freestanding, meaning they do not get hidden into corners and behind shower curtains.  These tubs are meant to stand out – literally – out in the open.  They usually look best with a lot of space, since you want the tub to be the center of attention.  Plus, a design like “Water” doesn’t deserve to be tucked away!  This collection comes in the rectangular shape shown in the photo, or oval.  Wetstyle is certainly a high-end product, but if you have the budget for something like this, I say go for it.  It’s absolutely a statement.

Does your tub work for you?  Another product called MicroSilk hydrotherapy system employs tiny bubbles less than 50 microns in size (aka, REALLY small) to penetrate the skins pores and remove impurities.  This system cleanses deep, without the use of soap.  The bubbles enhance the bath’s sauna effect by releasing their stored energy when collapsed, helping to maintain the warm temperature of the water.  This is often a big concern with deep luxury tubs: keeping the water warm.  The deeper your water, the colder it tends to let the water get after filling up, starting from the bottom.  This tub takes that worry away with its unique bubble design.

This fabulous tub is called Savoy, from MTI.  It was inspired by a slipper, and how perfect an inspiration when it yields such a gorgeous piece.  The freestanding Savoy is a slipper tub that cradles your upper body as you lean back, featuring a raised backrest that is contoured vertically, horizontally, and diagonally to comfortably caress the body.  Most tubs of this design were cast iron and porcelain, but the Savoy is made of MTI’s Engineered Solid-Surface material, a poured mixture of organic minerals and binding agents that looks and feels like natural stone. You can order this tub in an air jet model, which helps to circulate warm water back through the tub keeping the temperature up so you can soak longer.

Put this one on your wish list someday, because it is absolutely stunning.
