Sandpaper Repurposed!

A new favorite is emerging! Fresh Home Magazine is proving to be a great source for helpful tidbits for the home. While browsing in a back issue, we found a great sidebar containing creative uses for sandpaper. Check these out the next time you are in a pinch with one of these items around your home!

  • Got a wooden chopping board that won’t come clean? Try lightly sanding the surface with fine-grit sandpaper. You’ll find the stained food easily removed! When you’re finished, though, coat the wood with olive oil to keep it from drying out.
  • Use a piece of sandpaper on that stubborn jar lid for an easy open!
  • Are your kitchen shears not as sharp as they could be? Instead of investing in an expensive sharpener, use a piece of medium-grit sandpaper and swipe repeatedly away from the center. Be careful though, you’ll be surprised at how sharp the results are!
  • Hard water stains on your toilet, the sink of your 30 inch bathroom vanity, or your shower? Use the finest grit sandpaper to remove these stains. Clean the area as usual first, then rub the sandpaper lightly in circular motions until the stains disappear!

Not just for the handyperson!
