Material: Travertine is a form of limestone deposited by mineral springs. Travertine is a porous stone that in raw form has lots of veining and pits. When Travertine is used for sinks and countertops, it is honed, which means the pits are filled and sanded to create a smooth surface. Travertine can be damaged by acidic foods and cleaners, and is more vulnerable to scratches and etching (water marks) if not dried routinely. It is recommended that you seal Travertine at least every 3-6 months.
Finish: As hand crafted works of art created from glass, stone, copper, or ceramic, each vessel sink will have its own unique finish and may not be exactly as shown in the photos. Actual color may vary slightly due to different computer monitor display settings. UniqueVanities.com cannot guarantee that finishes between manufacturers will match.

The sink was lovely and delivered very promptly. The pop-up provided packaged with the sink was, however, a piece of junk. The downtube was cast pot metal that broke, thankfully, while installing instead of when the first person leaned against the sink. You should recommend that the buyer purchase a better quality piece.
The vessel sink arrived in perfect condition - packed such that nothing could break it! It is a replacement for a cracked vessel that was not of such good quality.

Q: I don't know if and how a vessel sink "closes" to hold water - does it?
A: It depends on the drain. If you get a grid drain the water does not hold. Grid drains are the ones with holes on the top and the water just drains through. Pop up drains will hold the water.
