Dual Bathroom Vanities: A New Take on the Double Vanity

A new trend has started to emerge in the world of bathroom design.  What once was thought of as unheard of, this trend is starting to take bathrooms by storm, and this trend is the dual bathroom vanity.  Now I’m sure you’re asking yourself, a dual vanity?  Doesn’t that just mean just two sinks?  Everyone has that!  That’s not true, as not many people have detached and separate vanities.  There are a few interesting characteristics about this trend that is leading many people to consider this when deciding on how to design their bathrooms.  Having a separate double vanity bathroom can give your bathroom the unique customization you’re been looking for. And if this isn’t what you were looking for–go here for double vanity options that are not two separate units.

The Ultimate His and Hers

If you’re home includes a bathroom that you share with your spouse, what’s better than creating his and hers vanities?  You’ll never have to share counter space with your spouse or complain that some of their items are invading your space.  You’ll have your own counter space and drawer space under the sink (depending on the type of vanity you choose).

Increased Storage Space

It always seems that there is not enough storage space in bathrooms as there are many things that need to be kept there.  Having dual, separate vanities would offer the opportunity to put in more vertical based storage in-between them, allowing for more room for these items.  Sometimes a linen closet just doesn’t get the job done!

Creative Placement

Another great feature of having two wholly separate vanities is that if you are working with a difficult space in your bathroom, you can place these two pieces wherever you want. Most dual bathroom vanities have a width between 20-25 inches, so you won’t have to wrry about how to fit a 72 inch vanity in your space.

While a separate double vanity has a very unique look, it will inevitably decrease the about of counter space that you will have.  With that said, if you put extra storage (like a drawer bank)  in-between the vanities, that may make up for it as it will have extra drawers.  Double vanities will offer you the opportunity to have a less cluttered bathroom, while increasing the amount of storage you have.  That sounds like a win win!
